The above photo of Mr. Parker was taken at the Huntington Japanese Garden in San Marino, California. (North Los Angeles area, near Pasadena.)
A private, nonprofit institution, The Huntington was founded in 1919 by Henry E. Huntington, an exceptional businessman who built a financial empire that included railroad companies, utilities, and real estate holdings in Southern California.
Huntington was also a man of vision – with a special interest in books, art, and gardens. The photo was taken for the May, 1974, Inside Kung Fu magazine.
(notice the image has been reversed with the kenpo patch on the right lapel instead of the left)
This is an interesting photo of Mr. Parker since I can't seem to find another copy in any larger size.
Since all that is out there is this relatively small copy it only makes this photo even more mysterious, although notice the background, it was taken at the same location as the photo used for the above Inside Kung Fu magazine.
